Event Date:    2/19/2016

Presenter:       Jeanine Wilson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP
Company:       Director of Human Resources, Sutter Physician Services
Workshop Overview:
How does a motivated, ambitious, reliable HR professional communicate with their boss, the CEO, or company executives? What is different about communicating with executives? Whether it is a one-on-one meeting, business proposal, or a presentation to a group of leaders, how do you get executives to listen to you?
The key to good communications – with anyone – is to know your goal, know your audience, and adapt accordingly. Communication with senior executives is no different, but it is important to consider certain aspects of how you communicate with this audience. First, we will consider some general guidelines that pertain to communication – but then focus on communicating more specifically with executives. Learn their language; understand their priorities, pressure points, and political environment; communicate confidently and establish a relationship; and how to bring up solutions, not issues. Ensure that when you communicate your executive gets the information they need to make effective decisions, and you get heard and learn strategic communication skills that will serve you throughout your career.
This presentation is not just for HR professionals - every professional in every industry can use tips and strategies to build effective relationships with their boss, managers, and executives. This presentation is also great for young professionals just entering the workplace who want to develop executive presence and confidence.
